Client CSM

Location: Remote

Summary:

The Client CSM is a vital member of our full-service, proactive tax accounting and planning firm. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring month-end close procedures are executed efficiently. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and a deep understanding of accounting best practices are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping:

  • Record all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and reconcile various accounts using QuickBooks Online.
  • Integrate other cloud based transactions/platforms to QBO.

Month-End Close:

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
  • Reconcile account balances and bank statements.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in financial entries, documents, or reports.

Accounting Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential issues, or opportunities for improvement.

Tax Support:

  • Assist the tax team in preparing documents and data for tax planning and filing.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Collaborate with the Client CFO or Client Controller to ensure accurate reporting and provide insights on financial health.

Scope of Work Monitoring:

  • Monitor Scope of Work
  • Effectively Communicate to the Administrative team client needs that are outside of the scope in order that pricing can be addressed.
  • Communicate with client the need for additional approvals before work can commence on the Out of Scope needs of the client

Continuous Learning & Improvement:

  • Stay updated on accounting best practices, and QuickBooks Online functionalities.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in CRM systems, Google Work Space/ Microsoft, QBO, Cloud based systems, etc. Familiarity with additional applications is a necessary adaptability.
  • Has a strong understanding of digital security requirements.
  • Have worked in fully remote environment. Experience in a paperless environment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping and accounting. Has a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to research, problem solve and bring innovative ideas to the table.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Client Controller

Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant with a specialization in small business tax will play a pivotal role in our firm, leading efforts in tax preparation, planning, and maximizing tax deductions and credits for our valued small business clients. This role requires a meticulous professional who is not only adept at navigating tax laws but also skilled at imparting knowledge to both staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Quarterly Tax Strategy Review:

  • Close Books
  • Tax Review

Small Business Tax Preparation and Planning:

  • Execute precise and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for small business clients.
  • Develop tax strategies and planning initiatives tailored to individual client needs, ensuring compliance while maximizing financial benefits.

Research and Application of Small Business Tax Credits:

  • Continuously update knowledge on tax regulations, especially focusing on small business tax credits, including the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC).
  • Compute and apply relevant tax credits diligently, ensuring clients benefit optimally.

Client Tax Compliance:

  • Manage e-filing processes for client tax returns, ensuring accuracy and punctuality.
  • Oversee and ensure timely tax payments on behalf of clients.
  • Document Nexxus, and requirements for State Tax Filing on Entities with multi-state jurisdictions
  • Ensure that all financial records comply with current tax regulations.

Advise Staff on Tax Law:

  • Act as the primary resource on tax matters within the firm, assisting junior staff on intricate tax scenarios.
  • Organize in-house training sessions to ensure the team remains abreast of tax law shifts and best practices.

Client Consultation and Advisement:

  • Furnish clients with informed tax advice, outlining potential benefits and liabilities tailored to their specific business model.
  • Build and nurture lasting client relationships through consistent communication, education, and premier service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • EA Preferred with a minimum of a CTEC License
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, predominantly in tax, with an emphasis on small businesses.
  • Comprehensive understanding of prevailing tax laws, especially in areas pertinent to small businesses.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to research, problem solve, and bring innovative ideas to the table.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in using Slack
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar office software.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is a must.
  • Proficiency in using Canopy or other CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software
  • Have worked in fully remote environment. Experience in a paperless environment is strongly preferred.
